Revelstoke, Golden, Invermere (North)
I’ve enjoyed living in Golden since 2003 and what I love most about this town are the friendly people and the outdoor recreational opportunities. Golden has one of the best ski resorts in Canada, an amazing network of mountain bike trails and beautiful views of the Purcell and Rocky Mountains. Since working for RMISP as homestay coordinator in 2008, I have been able to share this amazing place with students from all over the world. It’s such a rewarding experience when students get excited trying something new like dogsledding or skiing in 40cm of powder. I love it when they tell me that living in Canada has been the best experience of their life. Now that I’m the program coordinator for Golden, Revelstoke and Invermere, I’ll have 2 more awesome towns to share great adventures in with our students and homestay coordinators!

Kimberley, Cranbrook, Fernie, Sparwood (South)
I was born and raised in Austria and had the opportunity to live in many beautiful places in England, France, the USA and Canada. However, none are comparable to the beautiful Canadian Rockies! Cranbrook has been my home for the past 14 years, and I love the open-mindedness of the residents and the vast variety of recreational activities that are available here. I've had the privilege of working with international students for the past 13 years and truly enjoy meeting all these amazing teenagers from around the world that come to the East Kootenays to have the time of their life.

SD91, Short-Term and Summer Programs
I moved to British Columbia, Canada from the United States in 2006. When I moved to Golden in 2012, my family joined RMISP as a host family and we've hosted nearly twenty students over the years - both in Golden and our current hometown of Cranbrook. We've loved meeting young people from all over the world and learning about other cultures. We've found it's also a great way to learn more about our own community and the awesome attractions around us.After hosting for a few years, I took on the Homestay Coordinator role in Golden, then in Cranbrook. Now I'm very happy to be overseeing our new program in School District 91, as well as short-term and summer programs. When I'm not working (and sometimes even when I am), you'll likely find me behind a camera or enjoying the great outdoors.
International Education Secretary
I love my job with RMISP! I have enjoyed my role as administrative support for this professionally run program over the last two years. Having grown up in Kimberley and raising my family here, I know how fortunate we are to live in such a beautiful part of Canada. There is so much to do and see in our part of the world and I am proud to be part of a team that strives to provide the best study-abroad experience for every student.
The opportunity to work with international students appeals to me on many levels! I am originally from Taiwan and I have studied in Australia and Canada. I've also worked with international language students in Vancouver. I am really looking forward to meeting all the students and helping them, because I have shared the experience of being an international student. Assisting international students so they can have a good experience with our mountain culture is an incredible experience. I love skiing, biking, and hiking and live in Fernie with my family. I am looking forward to sharing our mountain culture with you!
If you have any questions about the amazing experiences here in Fernie and Sparwood, please contact me by email.
Joining the international student program as a Homestay Coordinator is an amazing opportunity to share with others two of my biggest passions: the outdoors and languages. I was born in Brazil to a family that is half French and half Uruguayan. I have lived and worked in Brazil, Uruguay, France, Chile, the United States, and Canada. In 2014, Golden became my home. It is a great joy to welcome students and share the vibrant wilderness and close-knit community that makes our town truly "Golden".

I am so excited to join the RMISP team as the homestay coordinator in Cranbrook! I have really enjoyed being a homestay parent over the past few years, and watching our students learn and grow as they participate in the RMISP program. I am very excited that I will now be part of the fun and adventure!
I love living in Cranbrook, and sharing all it has to offer with my students. I love to hike, play in the lakes, bike the trails, and skate and ski in the winter! Although I have traveled all over the globe, and have seen amazing things, I feel very lucky to live in this beautiful corner of the world!
I am excited to be the Home Stay Coordinator in Invermere now, and enjoyed the various hikes, activities and people I met since starting in the Spring. I am looking forward to meeting the students and families in the program! I enjoy learning about other cultures and traditions! In January 2019, I moved from Winnipeg (Manitoba) to the Valley after visiting many times over the years. The mountain views and lifestyle are always intriguing; with amazing things to discover every day! This area of BC offers so many great year-round outdoor activities to keep me busy and has such a variety of places to explore.
In my career, I had the opportunity to travel around many parts of the world and extensively across my home country Canada! My favourite pass time is hiking with my son and our dog. If you have any questions about the great experiences available in and around Invermere, please contact me.
Nechako Lakes District
I am excited to be the new Homestay Coordinator for the Nechako Lakes District and join the RMISP team. Anyone that knows me knows that we do not have to be related to be family. I think that is what truly excites me about this new endeavor. I look forward to helping others open their homes and create lasting memories. I have lived in the Vanderhoof area for the past 41 years and look forward to sharing all that our community has to offer.
I enjoy running and the outdoors. We have a cabin at the lake just an hour from home, so boating, fishing, hiking, and being together with family are all a big part of my life.
If you would like to know more or have any questions about the Vanderhoof-Burns Lake area, please contact me by email or look me up on social media.
